About Jackson

I didn’t run in high school or college.

I started several years after college, at a time when I could barely run a full mile without walking.

Five years later, I became a USATF Masters Champion.

That journey—from couch to sub-5 mile—is at the heart my coaching. I know what it’s like to start from scratch, and I know what it takes to accomplish a meaningful personal goal, brick by brick.

I hired a coach, learned how to train with purpose, and committed to doing the work. Along the way, I fell in love with the process. Now I help athletes of all levels chase their own breakthroughs—whether that’s finishing their first 5k or shaving seconds off a national qualifying time.

Athletic Credentials

I race what I coach.

As a middle-distance runner, I’ve medaled in championship competition and continue to train and compete year-round.

I don’t believe you have to be fast to be a good coach—but I do believe in walking the walk. The workouts I assign, I’ve done. The training challenges you’ll face, I’ve lived. I lean on my experiences — good and bad — as an athlete, to guide you through your own journey.

Coaching Philosophy

Every runner is different.

Every training plan should be too.

Whether you’re brand new to running or a seasoned competitor, your training should reflect your goals, your schedule, and your experience.

I believe progress comes from training smart—not just hard—and that consistency matters more than hero workouts. I also believe that the coach-athlete relationship can play an important role in success. When there’s mutual respect and clear communication, it’s easier to trust the process, stay accountable, and get more out of your training.

I believe in thoughtful coaching that blends best practices with what makes you excited to train.

One More Thing

This operation has one full-time assistant coach. He’s not a big fan of practice.

He thinks he’s in charge around here. He can keep thinking that. Whatever keeps him from sabotaging the business.
